Fun and Off The Wall Holidays To Celebrate This March!

March usually gets all of its popularity because of St. Patrick’s Day. But did you know there are lots of other fun and off the wall holidays to celebrate with your family this March?

Each of these holidays can be a fun, even educational, way to connect with your kids. How many have you heard of?

March 2nd: Dr Suess’ Birthday

Celebrate by reading your tiny human’s favorite Dr Suess book and following that up with a themed meal and craft! Check our Pinterest board for our favorite fun ideas!

March 7th: International Pancake Day

What could be more fun than National Pancake Day?! Treat your littles to breakfast for dinner, and have them help out in the kitchen by mixing the batter and adding their favorite embellishments: we recommend berries, chocolate chips, sprinkles, food coloring, or even an egg and bacon crumbles (while your pancake is on the griddle). Don’t feel like cooking? IHOP Restaurants are offering a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes when you visit and make a donation to one of their available charities.

 March 14th: Pi Day

Another food-related holiday? Count us in! 3.14 may be the mathematical “Pi,” but you can celebrate with PIE! Have fun in the kitchen coming up with new fruit and cream combinations with your children while you help them learn about math in a fun, sneaky way.

March 23rd: National Puppy Day

If you don’t want to go cuddle puppies at your local Humane Society (this can get tough with little kids!), celebrate with Clifford The Big Red Dog’s Puppy Days books and videos (available on PBS). Pair the books and videos with a cute Clifford Craft and puppy-themed snacks (cut into doggie bone shapes and dip in melted chocolate) to complete the celebration!

Which of these fun and off-the-wall holidays will you be celebrating this March? Leave your ideas in the comments below!
